BVD Petroleum is a small-sized business that provides tanker truck drivers across Canada and the US with fuel cards that allow electronic management of payment transactions. Their business model is dependent on custom enterprise software to manage all the transaction information. Their existing solution didn’t prove to be reliable enough to handle the large volume of transaction data they were dealing with. It was decided that a complete rewrite of their enterprise software was required.

Mentel’s agile development team was a perfect match for the project, as the loosely defined initial specification required constant communication with the client. BVD has been able to fully acknowledge the benefits of using the agile methodology: faster time-to-market, risk mitigation due to constant availability of recent changes, flexibility for accommodating change requests, transparency of the development process to the client. BVD has completely substituted their enterprise software with the newly developed system. The system is designed to reliably scale, thus securing the future growth of BVD’s business.
